كلنا ليلى هي مبادره ليوم من أجل المرأه المضطهدة في المنطقة العربية. يقوم في هذا اليوم كتاب المدونات بنشر تدوينات تحت راية يوم كلنا ليلى لطرح و مناقشة المشكلات التي تواجهها المرأة في المجتمعات العربية. بدأت فكرة كلنا ليلى عن طريق مجموعة من كاتبات المدونات المصريات على رأسهم مدونة لست أدري، بنت مصرية، شيماء، أرابيسك، أبيتاف وأخريات. و بالرغم من أن بداية كلنا ليلى كانت من مجموعة من المدونات المصرية فإن القائمين على الإعداد ليوم كلنا ليلى يؤكدون أن يوم ليلى موجه للمرأة العربية عموما و ليست المصرية فقط.

البدايه

في أغسطس من عام 2006 طرحت فكرة اليوم لأول مره كاتبة مدونة لست أدري على مجموعة من كاتبات المدونات المصرية. لقيت الفكرة استقبالا جيدا من المدونين الذين قاموا بدورهم بنشر فكرة اليوم لمدونين آخرين و قاموا بالبدأ في الإعداد لليوم الأول لليلى و لم يكن قد تم اختيار الإسم الذي سيتم إطلاقه على اليوم بعد

التسميه

أطلق اسم كلنا ليلى على اليوم لتبني شخصية ليلى و هي بطلة رواية الباب المفتوح للكاتبه الروائيه لطيفة الزيات حيث تمثل ليلى في الرواية رمزا للفتاة المصرية التي تتعرض للقهر و الظلم من المجتمع المصري الشرقي أثناء حقبة العدوان الثلاثي على مصر، و صدام ليلى مع المجتمع لإثبات أهمية دورها كامرأة في هذا المجتمع. وضع ليلى في الرواية و القهر الذي تتعرض له من وجهة نظر القائمين على مدونة كلنا ليلى لا يختلف كثيرا عن وضع المرأة العربيه اليوم في نفس المجتمع

اليوم الأول

كان اليوم الأول لليلى في التاسع من سبتمبر بعام 2006. شارك في اليوم الاول العديد من المدونات المصريه و العربيه و قوبل بترحاب في أوساط المدونات المصريه و تم جمع ردود الفعل لليوم الأول بالمدونة الأم لليوم على هذا الرابط

اليوم الثاني

بعد مرور العام الأول لليلى بدأ الإعداد لليوم الثاني و كان أحد الأهداف الرئيسية لليوم الثاني لليلى هو إشراك الطرف الآخر في الحوار فكان من المقترح إشراك الرجال و طرح وجهة نظرهم في المشاكل المتعلقة بالمرأه. تم اقتراح مجموعة من الأسئلة التي يمكن سؤالها للمشاركين و النقاش حولها في العديد من المواضع من ضمنها ليلى و المجتمع، ليلى و مكانها من الرجل، ليلى و الإعلام، ليلى و خطوات التغيير

اليوم الثالث

تم تأجيل اليوم الثالث من التاريخ المعتاد و هو التاسع من سبتمبر إلى التاسع عشر من من أكتوبر مع تعميم الدعوه لكل من الرجال و النساء للمشاركة باليوم.

الموقف من الرجل

يؤكد القائمين على مدونة كلنا ليلى أن الهدف من اليوم ليس معاداة الرجل حيث أن المشكلات المجتمعية التي تعاني منها ليلى ليست من إنتاج الرجل فقط و إنما تكون المرأة جزء من المشكلة أيضا. و يؤكدن أن الهدف من اليوم في المقام الأول هو محاولة لإيجاد حلول للمشكلات المطروحة و لفت انتباه المجتمع لها و تغيير طريقة تعاطيه مع هذه المشكلات

“We are all Laila” is an initiative to devote a day, annually, to speak up about the problems facing oppressed women in the Arab region. On that day, bloggers publish posts under the title of “We are all Laila” to raise awareness and discuss the concerns of women in Arab societies. The idea started with a group of female bloggers, led by “Lasto Adri“, “Bent Masreya“, “Shaimaa“, “Arabesque” and “Epitaph.” Despite the fact that “We are all Laila” was founded by bloggers from Egypt, the founders assure that it is for all Arab women in general and not only Egyptians.

“We are all Laila” day was first held on the 9th of September 2006.

The beginning

In August 2006, “Lasto Adri”, an Egyptian blogger, proposed the idea to a group of Egyptian female bloggers. It was well received by them, and they immediately started spreading it among other bloggers and preparing for the first day, even though the title for the event had not been selected yet.

Choosing the Name (Nomenclature)

The name “We are all Laila” was chosen for the day, by adopting the name of the heroine of the novel “The Open Door“, Laila.The novel was written by the Egyptian novelist “Latifa El Zayyat“. In “The Open Door” Laila represents every Egyptian girl who suffers oppression and injustice in the Egyptian Eastern society during the time of the Suez Canal Crisis, when Egypt was attacked by Israel, The United Kingdom and France. The novel also features Laila’s struggle with the community to prove the importance of the role of women in this society. The organizers confirm that the oppression Laila goes through, throughout the novel, is not so different from the current status of women in Arab societies today.

Day One
The first “We are all Laila” day was held on the 9th of September 2006, where many Egyptian and Arab bloggers participated. It was well-received among Egyptian blogs, and the reactions have been collected and displayed in the main blog of this link.

Day Two
Preparations for the second “We are all Laila” day were made, and it was held exactly one year after the first day. One of the main objectives of the second day was getting other parties involved in discussing problems related to women and society. It was proposed to invite men, allowing them to express their points of view regarding women-related problems in society. A small set of questions was developed for participants, initiating discussions related to topics such as “Laila and Society,” “Laila’s status compared to that of men,” “Laila and The Media,” and “Steps for Change.”

Day Three
The third “We are all Laila” day was postponed. Instead of being held on the usual date on the 9th of September, it was held on the 19th of October 2008, giving a time extension and allowing the invitation to more men and women to participate in the day to take its course.

Where we stand from men

The organizers of the “We are all Laila” confirm that the event is not against men, but instead it aims at shedding light on oppression and other problems faced by women in the region. Such problems are not the creation of men alone, but women have contributed to them as well. They strongly emphasize that the main purpose of “We are all Laila” day is to direct public attention to these problems in an attempt to resolve them and change the way society deals with similar problems.
