Kolena Laila would like to invite you to join our campaign for open dialogue starting December 24th and ending December 31st, 2009. The campaign's objective this year is to promote discussion about women’s issues in Arab societies.
This year Kolena Laila will take the opportunity to bring stories of struggles and challenges that ultimately brought positive change to the organization as a whole to the forefront. The premise behind the campaign is to hear what Arab bloggers have to say about the challenges facing women today. We would like to hear more about women’s success stories in Arab countries and the challenges they faced and the outcomes of their experiences. We want to know what Laila aspires for in her dreams; who she wants to be and where she envisions herself in the future. We encourage people to express their opinions and observations openly and without restraint. Kolena Laila does not endorse any particular cultural values. Instead, we aim to assess, and perhaps question, some of our motives and through that, modify our behavior with an eye towards self improvement.

Kolena Laila is a virtual initiative on the blogsphere that calls to review values and prevalent ideas related to females, and how society enacts them with no consideration of their impact on women themselves. The call here is not to propagate a certain value or culture, but it is rather a call to criticize and review our own daily behavior, with a true desire to change and purify our attitudes in life. Therefore, participation is open and welcoming each and everyone, from Egypt and Arab countries, men and women, bloggers and simple citizens whom we will voice and share their experience on the internet.
