The five first founders:

  • Eman AbdElRahman: Kolena Laila founder and facilitator. Engineering graduate and works in the networks engineering field . Blogs under the name "Lasto Adri" since 2004, and a volunteer author in Global Voices Online, content producer in Meedan and translates TED Talks into Arabic.
  • Mariam Al Naqr: One of the first participant in Kolena Laila. Started from the first year in the blogging initiative and is the author of the articles which define and introduce the idea.
  • Zeinab Samir: Egyptian Blogger and Web Designer at Almasry Alyoum. Zeinab is the designer of the site, and was responsible for handling all things technical.

    • Hisham: Hicham Khribchi (Hisham) is a Moroccan blogger and activist based in France. Born and raised in Morocco he moved to France in 2003 for training as a medical doctor. Hisham is an author for Global Voices Online.

    • Rasha Hilwi: A Palestinian author and journalist from Aka, has the first title at the sociology, anthropology and educational management from Haifa university.  Works in the writing and audible media field in the cultural and the entertainment industry, the host and editor of "Al Bal" program in the Nassera city which is a weekly program about culture and entertainment in Palestine, the Middle East and the world.
